The Weight and Calling Of John The Baptist

The last time we talked about our lord's prayer and how we can be able to talk to God at any time and any place. Today we will be talking about the calling of John the baptism, John the baptism had a great calling that the weight was so heavy that he was made to pass through many things and many terrible humiliations in other for him to fulfill his calling.

John the baptism was there to smooth and clear his way and make it ready for the coming of Jesus Christ the savior of the world that has been destined to come and save mankind.

In the book of Mathew, it talked about the work John was doing so far... Mathew chapter 3:1-7 talked more about John the baptism

1 In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judæa,

2 And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

3 For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.

4 And the same John had his arraignment of camel's hair, and a leather girdle about his loins; and his meat was locusts and wild honey.

5 Then went out to him Jerusalem, and all Judæa, and all the region round about Jordan,

6 And were baptized of him in Jordan, confessing their sins.

7 ¶ But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?

From the scriptures above we understand that john the baptism was already doing the work of Jesus Christ such as preaching about, doing many baptisms and bringing people to God. In our next post, we will talk about new things about John the Baptism.

We would like you to share this post with the people you love.
